Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role is for her character, the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she won the Emmy Award. She has also starred in shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials after moving from New York. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash by a myriad of TV films and dramas. She has not had a successful or happy personal life. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism and she has experienced two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody of her sole son.
